Nicole & David | Taj Private Wedding, Boston MA

Private weddings are so special… I love photographing them.

Each wedding strives to be unique to the couple’s values and traditional obligations, so it’s not fair to generalize in saying that I love private weddings more than larger weddings of 200+ guests.  But in general, I have thoroughly loved the intimate weddings of 25 or smaller guest counts, or private ceremonies, period- where it’s the bride+groom, the justice of the peace, and me in a beautiful luxurious hotel suite.

First of all, the day seem less stressed on the bride and groom.  It’s as intimate as an engagement session, and I truly feel “invited” into the intimate circle, rather than a documenter.  I certainly don’t mean to make wedding photography be about what I like and want, but with these smaller, intimate weddings, I feel a sense of calm from everyone in attendance, as well as intimate joys between the loved ones without worry about putting on a production, a schedule, or meeting expectations.

Below is another private wedding held shortly before the holidays at the Boston Taj.  With the lovely red carpet treatment from the hotel & Kevin McNally, the lovely justice of peace, Gayle Smalley officiating, and beautiful touches from Winston Flowers, I’ll let the images communicate the rest the beautiful love story!
