Congratulations Susanna and Robert! | Harvard Faculty Club Wedding

I received an e-mail asking if I can speak to a bride in San Francisco.  While a long distance wedding client wasn’t unusual, the nature of the call with Susanna was more about her wanting to just talk to me because she had already wanted to work with me without having me “sell” my self.  She also asked me among the several dates that worked for the bride and groom, was I still available so that she could confirm with the church availability.  Well, this is a pleasant surprise, I thought. This is the type of bride who puts high priority on photography.

Susanna was engaged to Robert, who graduated from Harvard years ago, and for its rich history, it held a special place in his heart.  And as rich and lasting as the history of Harvard is, he wanted his marriage to begin in such a place.  But because they both resided in San Francisco, the Boston wedding was going to be an intimate ceremony with just the immediate family and a couple of friends.  So the wedding plans began.

Flowers by Celebrated Flower

Susanna is extremely cute and petite next to Robert’s tall stature, and she was very familiar with some tall heels.

Artist and Stylist Andrea Ducharme of The Makeup Artists stayed ahead of schedule and did wonderful work.  She also helped Susanna get into the dress and added final touches as well as some emergency sewing while being so sweet and pleasant.  I was very impressed.

The “First Look”

We all loved Robert’s lime green tie to tie in with the bouquet.

Ceremony: Memorial Church of Harvard

One of the cutest flower girls and niece of the groom, playing with bubbles on grandma’s lap.

Cake: Party Favors of Brookline

And I heard familiar beautiful music that I could not even imagine played on the harp by harpist: Jessica Schaeffer

Reception & Catering:  Harvard Faculty Club

Because of Robert’s love for history, the couple asked me during the planning stage if I knew of any historians who could present the History of Harvard to the wedding guests.  Well, thanks to my network of small businesses, I knew a historian who specializes in personal memoirs.  While presenting the history of Harvard in a playful quiz, personal historian David O’Neil of Story Trust was also able to share the story of how Susanna and Bobby met and courted along with a slideshow.  The guests had a wonderful time including hearing about their first kiss~

One of the sweetest and generous couples I’ve worked with!

After dinner, the guests were treated to a live performance by the famous undergrad acapella ensemble, The Harvard Din & Tonics

While being treated like part of the inner circle of guests, I even had the pleasure of photographing Susanna and Robert on a post wedding session, two days after the wedding.

Congratulations Susanna and Robert!
