Can you plan a wedding in 3 weeks?

Tian and Robert met at the beginning of their law school while both they were waiting at the dean’s office. They contacted me 3 weeks before their wedding. I admit, I was puzzled, and almost put-off that someone would place wedding photography so low on their priority list that they would contact me this late in their planning. But to my surprise, the bride and groom were very sweet, very polite, organized, and did NOT place wedding photography low on their list, but really only had 3 weeks to plan a wedding. Oh, and to add more to their to-do list, they were wrapping up their Harvard Law school degrees, showing their families around, getting married, taking their bar exams, and moving to NYC. Out of consideration for families who were traveling across the country, and across the world for their graduation, they decided at the last minute to graduate and get married in the same trip for their families.

They even managed to fit in an engagement session with me the week before the wedding.

Tian and Robert wanted a “simple and elegant wedding” which is my favorite style of weddings, and a very frequent description most of my clients use to describe their wedding desires. But the couple were able to pull together so many wonderful details in such a short time frame. By the end of the day, I was a little smitten with both Tian and Robert~

Tian asked if they could be photographed by the piano, so I looked at Robert to see if he could play. He modestly said, “Some”. As he started, I swooned… I have a soft spot for pianists… quickly followed by cellists… (my husband Dan’s a cellist)
